THIS CANDYS AWESOME FINISHES IN STYLE
OKLAHOMA CITY – Saturday, June 4, 2016 , This Candys Awesome went out a winner by closing out her race career with a win in the $105,500 Grade 2, Junos Request Stakes on Saturday night at Remington Park.

The 5-year-old mare by PYC Paint Your Wagon, out of the Mr Jess Perry mare, Jess Send Candy, was bred by the late Carl Pevehouse, who was represented in the winner’s circle by his widow Rozella Pevehouse and daughter Cheryl Pevehouse, owners of PV Quarter Horse farms LLC of Ratliff City, Okla.
This Candys Awesome is trained by Clint Crawford and was ridden by jockey Ivan Carnero. Crawford earned his second consecutive Remington Park Leading Trainer title with 36 wins, while Carnero was crowned the 2016 Remington Park Leading Jockey with a total of 49 wins.
This Candys Awesome made a meal of her racing career in Oklahoma City, recording six of her 11 wins at Remington Park. The $63,300 she earned in the Junos Request pushed her Remington Park earnings to $332,592 and her overall lifetime earnings to $434,481.

Sent off at odds of 7-2, This Candys Awesome covered the 400-yard distance in a time of :19.496 seconds over a fast track. She won by a neck to pay $9.80 to win, $4 to place and $3.20 to show. Sudden Separation was the 4-5 wagering favorite and chased throughout to finish second, paying $3.20 to place and $2.80 to show. Bye Bye Birdy finished third to pay $10.40 to show.
