LONGSHOT FLY N TELL WINS EASY JET STAKES AT REMINGTON PARK
OKLAHOMA CITY -- June 2, 2018 – Fly N Tell provided the biggest longshot win on the final night of the 2018 Remington Park American Quarter Horse Season, winning the $50,000 Easy Jet Stakes by one length.
Bred, owned and trained by Robert Esqueda of Canyon, Texas, Fly N Tell was ridden to victory in the race for 2-year-old Oklahoma-breds by Juan Pulido. The filly was on her way after a few strides, opening up a lead, never to be challenged on her way to the score. Priceless was second with Apollitical Desire third, a nose behind the runner-up.
Fly N Tell handled 350 yards in :17.471 over a fast track, winning at odds of 39-1. She paid $80.40 to win, $22.80 to place and $9.20 to show. Priceless paid $25.40 to place and $11.40 to show. Apollitical Desire returned $3.20 to show. Eagles Fly Higher was the betting favorite at 4-5 odds, finishing fourth.
Fly N Tell won her second race of her career and season. An Oklahoman-bred daughter of Coronado Cartel from the Strawflyin Buds mare Strawfly Sister, Fly N Tell made $29,784 to increase her total earnings to $45,721.
The connections of Fly N Tell won their first Easy Jet Stakes at Remington Park. The Easy Jet is named after the 1969 American Quarter Horse Association World Champion and winner of the All American Futurity. Easy Jet was bred, owned and trained by Hall of Famer Walter Merrick of Sayre, Okla.
