FIRST OFFICIAL WORKOUT OF SEASON POSTED BY CROPPED TOP

OKLAHOMA CITY – Remington Park opened the main track for training this morning as horses prepare for the opening of the 2017 American Quarter Horse Season. Under a bright and sunny sky with temperatures nearing 60 degrees, Cropped Top posted the first official workout for the season at approximately 8:45am.

OKLAHOMA RACING MEDICATION ISSUES DISCUSSED IN HISTORIC MEETING

The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association hosted a meeting today in Oklahoma City to provide industry participants an opportunity to visit with a number of racing industry experts on topics such as drug testing methodology, hair testing, out of competition or pre-race testing, uniform model rules with breed specific chapters for the Quarter Horse industry, and other topics relating to the integrity of racing and welfare of the equine athlete. This is the first meeting of this type in Oklahoma with both nationally recognized leaders and industry players all at the same table to participate in a question and answer type dialog.

HORSE ACTIVITY SET TO RETURN TO REMINGTON PARK

OKLAHOMA CITY – The beginning of February also marks the return of horse activity at Remington Park. The2017 American Quarter Horse Season starts March 10 but in a just a few days, the racetrack and barn area will come alive again as horsemen and horses prepare for live racing.

DELAYED EVENT Rescheudled to Friday January 27, 2017 due to expected weather event on Friday, January 13, 2017. (Due to an anticipated severe weather event in Oklahoma City this coming Friday evening January 13th, the induction banquet for the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Hall of Fame has been rescheduled and will be held on January 27th. If you already purchased tickets or made reservations you will be contacted about the reservations for the event on the 27th. Please help us get the word out that the event has been rescheduled due to anticipated bad weather.)
